Multiple treatments: First, discontinue any optional activity causing pain (sports, running). If your symptoms are acute, then anti-inflammatories and icing can help. Aleve (naproxen) or advil are options. For those patients limping, we often use a tall walking boot with a possible heel lift. Diagnostically, an MRI or ultrasound can help determine whether a tear is present or not. Pt is helpful for most. No cortisone injections.
