Tear: You could have a partial tear of the tendon which would not show up on an X-ray. See an orthopedic specialist to get a definitive diagnosis

Achilles tear.: Severe pain anywhere, but especially in the Achilles tendon, is definitely not a good sign. X-rays are nice for bone but a not the choice for soft tissue damage. It is quite possible that the tendon has been damaged and may be at risk for tearing. Anti inflammatories may only mask the real issue. You would be better of with an evaluation of the heel to remove all doubt.
