Heat: Most styes can be eliminated by the diligent application of very warm packs over the lids for 4 minutes at a time done 4-5 times per day. If persistent see your ophthalmologist for further treatment.

Compresses!: You can use warm compresses - a washcloth with warm water and hold it to the closed eye for 5-10 minutes 3 times a day. You can massage it with your fingers after the compress, but do not aggravate it. You are trying to get it to drain on its own. You may need it incised and drained if this does not work. See and ophthalmologist. A sty is not and infection, so antibiotics do not help.

Treat early: Very warm compresses should be used topically for 2-4 minutes. Using the compresses a circular light massage with your fingers for 10-20 seconds will also be helpful. The compress should not be hot enough to irritate the skin.Any. Many times you may need oral antibiotics if it is bacterial.
