Hello. : Hello. Most important thing - try not to touch your stye with your fingers, don't pick at it and definately don't squeeze it. You can apply warm compresses for ten to fifteen minutes at a time, four to six times per day. Styes usually resolve within seven to ten days.

Often, : Often, a series of hot compresses during the day will work, . Many of my patients have success with 3 or 4 compresses, 5-10 minutes each session. A heated potato works well, some patients have mentioned that they have used a hard-boiled egg the same way. This holds heat longer than using a washcloth alone. If this does not work within a week or so, then eye drops, or surgical removal will be successful. See your eye doctor if compresses fail!

The : The best way to treat tis is with a warm compress for about one hour a day. I instruct my patients to heat a potato for four minutes in a microwave oven. This will be too hot to apply to the eye lids. Then take a wash cloth and soak it in a warm water, squeeze the water out and then wrap the hot potato in this wash cloth. It should stay nice and warm for about 15 minutes. Repeat this until you have applied it for one hour (more is ok) and do this until you see a resolution in one to two weeks. If done properly, it will work 100% of time. Good luck.
