Future loss of tooth: Short roots mean that the teeth are not as solid as teeth with longer roots. If there is bone loss around these teeth (periodontal disease), the teeth may become loose and eventually be lost. Also short rooted teeth are not good support for dentures or bridges.

Loose teeth: Normal or excessive forces on your teeth like grinding clenching or chewing can cause your teeth to loosen and fall out. That's not a good thing. Why are your roots short? Braces perhaps?
