A member asked:

What will the dentist do to old silver fillings?

Nothing unless...: Unless there is a clinical reason for removal, your dentist will monitor them for breakdown. All fillings in your mouth will eventually "wear out" and require replacement...But just because there are "old" is not a reason for removal. Hope that answers your question!

They are not silver: They are usually amalgams of mercury.
