Possibly: Each tooth and cavity is different, and it depends on how much tooth structure is left after the cavity is cleaned out. Since your dentist will be treating your tooth, ask them regarding your choices.

White fillings: In general, even if it's a big cavity it can be filled with a tooth colored composite filling rather than a silver amalgam one. With extensive decay and loss of tooth structure, you may require more than just a filling. I suggest that you discuss this issue with your dentist after he\she sees the tooth as well as having an x-ray of the tooth.

White filling: A white filling can be used to fill the big cavity. Sometimes, a crown may be recommended if there is significant tooth structure missing. Discuss this with your dentist.

White can work: All other conditions being equal, a white (or tooth-colored, to be more accurate) can be placed to fill a big cavity, a silver filling is not the only option.

Normally tooth color: Depending upon how big the cavity is, it can normally be restored with an aesthetic restoration- filling, veneer, crown, etc. The nerve and condition of the tooth has to be assessed first to determine the best course of treatment.
