What is the difference between a mammogram vs. mri?

An XR mammo is : Standard, an mr should be used very selectively, is very expensive and best used in dense breasts where mammo is quite insensitive. Mr finds many things that prove to be unimportant but raise alarm (false positive).

A mammogram: uses low dose xrays to image the breast, an MRI uses magnetic fields. Mammography is the standard of care for screening. MRI is may be indicated in special circumstances and niche screening.
