What rays are used in eye scanning equipment? are they dangerous?

Depends: What kind of scan? Orbital sonogram uses ultrasound - no ionizing radiation. Mri uses magnetic fields and radio waves - no ionizing radiation. Ct uses x-rays. Definite source of ionizing radiation. Only dangerous if used excessively.
