0-6 months: Sometimes implants are placed at the time of the extraction, sometimes bone replacement is placed at the time of the extraction to replace the void left by the roots of the tooth. If bone augmentation was placed, usually you have to wait 3-6 months before the implant can be placed.

It varies: In some instances, an implant can be placed at the time of tooth removal and in other instances the doctor may want to wait for 3-6 months. Each situation is different.

Depends: There are times where an implant is placed at the same time as the extraction. This is called an immediate placement. The more traditional way is to allow the socket to heal in with bone then place the implants. That takes anywhere from 3-4 months after extraction. Which method used depends on the tooth, anatomy, and surgeon's experiences with implants there are pros and cons to both.

Possibly 6+ months: The healing process is the main reason it takes so long to get the completed dental implant. Normally, the tooth has to be extracted (if it wasn't already, ) and then the implant and bone filler has to be placed- which can take up to 3 months. If the implant is an upper one, where the sinus may have to be surgically lifted to avoid placing the implant in the sinus cavity, it can take longer.

Depends.: Very often we place the implant at the same time. As long as the area is not grossly infected, the success rate is excellent. Discuss this with your prosthodontist and surgeon.

Depends: Sometimes an implant can be placed immediately upon extractions. If not, it takes the bone of the extraction site 4 to 6 months to heal before implant therapy.

Immediately: There are different course of action on dental implants: 1) immediate placement: at the moment of the tooth extraction. 2) meditae placement: few weeksafter extraction and 3) delyplacement: fewmonth after tooth extraction. The difference on the treatment depends on the quality and quantity of the bosne, infection, need for grafting, etc. Your dentist will be able to guide on that.
