Ask your doctor: It is not unusual for absorbable sutures to be used in foot surgery, and as they breakdown the body rejects them and they come to head on the surface. Usually, this is a self-limiting problem and a topical antibiotic and bandaid is all that is needed. Ask your foot surgeon for specific recommendations.

See your doctor: Stitches shouldn't be "coming out" a year after your surgery. There most likely is something else going on. See the doctor who performed the surgery and he/she will likely know what the issue is right away.
