Only : If you stretch incorrectly and go beyond your limits for your present flexibility. If you stretch slowly, deliberatly, with correct technique and with no bouncing, stretching is one of the best exercises you can do even into you old age. Look at many martial arts masters- they are almost as flexible in their 80's as in their 30's.
