Satellite tumors can: Occur around the primary, but nodes are separate entities. The size, location of the tumor, penetrance through the bowell wall are important. The node dissection and patholgy needs to find > 13 nodes for evaluation; fewer leads to uncertainty.

Can't say for sure.: I am assuming you had a colon resection for cancer. It is encouraging that the lymph nodes were negative as that is an important prognostic factor in curing you. The 3 nodules around the tumor could be tumor in what were lymph nodes that have been totally replaced by tumor or could be satellite tumors. You should have had a colonoscopy to exclude other tumors in your colon. If not, you should.
