How do dentists whiten a discolored tooth?

Bleaching: If the tooth has had a root canal, a dentist can place a whitening agent inside the tooth to "bleach" the tooth internally.

Bleach: A tooth can be discolored for many reasons, and it's important that you discuss these reasons with your dentist first. Once it has been determined what caused the discoloration, the alternatives for making it "white" again can be discussed, and they can range from teeth whitening or "bleaching" to cosmetic bonding or porcelain veneer/crown.
