Depends: If you are feeling ill then no procedure should be performed. See an md. If there is a low grade fever and your procedure is minor and noninvasive you should be fine. But still consult an md first to be safe.

Fever and treatment: The decision to start treatment on a patient who has a fever depends on the circumstances surrounding the fever. The cause of the fever is important to establish as well as knowing if the fever is associated with a dental related or systemic problem etc. Considering if the dental procedure is invasive may be a consideration. Will the dental procedure help the or hinder the source of the fever.

Depends on cause: Depends on cause of the fever. If it is because of an oral infection, immediate treatment is required to eliminate the infection. If because of a cold, Flu, etc., treatment can usually wait until you are feeling better and there is no risk of your infecting the Dentist or office staff. Call your Dentist in advance of the appointment and discuss your situation.
