Maybe....but !!!!!!!: It might cost less initially, but i would not ever recommend this. You never know what kind of materials are being used, what kind of sterilization techniques are in place (or not), and there will be no one to help you if you ever have any complications or secondary issues. In the long run, it could be costing you much more than if done in the us by a dentist that you trust to take care of you.

Yes in short term: I have had patients needing lot of dental treatment go to another country to try and save money. Other countries, such as mexico, do not have same regulations and education requirements as the U.S. Dental work done in other countries may not work or not last as long and have to be redone costing more money in the end. To save money, find good dentist and have dental work done right the first time.

Probably: But not better. The best dental education in the world is right here. The highest rx standards are right here. Some people do very well having rx done outside the us, but the incidence of horror stories is high. And who do you go to if you have a problem? I'm a dentist, and i would not even consider having rx done elsewhere except possibly sweden or germany.

Yes and no: Yes, it is cheaper to fix the initial problem. But I have seen patients return with terrible quality that they cannot detect on their own. Often a patient isn't aware of the quality of dentistry until two to three years have passed. By that time, the open dental margins left on ill-fitting crowns return as recurrent decay. I have seen this first hand from work completed in mexico.

Probably: Dental care in other parts of the world can be less expensive than in your neck of the woods. You must understand that in certain instances, issues can arise after your work is completed (this is true no matter where you receive treatment). To travel back and forth to Mexico for adjustments and corrections, if needed, will add to the total cost of your care possibly surpassing Evanston fees.
