Pain from knee: Plica syndrome is when the plica ( synovial fold of capsule) causes pain due to irritation over the femoral condyle. They are usually medial (inner) and can pop over the knee with flexion (bending) of knee. Can respond to injections but occasionally require surgery. Often times a garbage bag diagnosis for surgeons that scope a knee and don't find any major problems.

Inflammed tissue.: The plica is a band of tissue that runs along the front/inner side of your knee. It can become inflammed and cause knee pain in that area.
