Make Lasting Changes: A weight loss program has to be something you can live with for the long-term. Its better to eat healthy, natural proteins like meats, fish and veggies than to drink whey. Avoid liquid calories of any kind. Eliminating "white" carbs will go a long way also. This means sugar, white flour products as well as white rice and white pastas. This + regular exercise = steady weight loss.

You may, but no need: Eating whey protein is not a way to lose weight. Decreased caloric intake and increase energy output is the way to lose. Weight training is not the most efficient way to lose either. Aerobic exercise for 30 minutes daily is the best energy burner (after resistance training is better but not critical). Eliminate grains (bread, pasta, cereal) and beans (all) and you will lose faster.
