Is it ok to drink protein powder (whey protein) if I have gout? I used to love this as a breakfast supplement but now am not sure if it's a good idea

Yes: Diet has very little influence on serum uric acid levels. However, if you have gout you should be on allopurinol to normalize serum uric acid level and prevent future attacks.
