See below: We do not recommend anything for a cough at that age. She needs to be evaluated.

Very little: If the cough only happens when laying down, then this could be from drainage, using nasal saline drops with suction may help. If there are signs of distress between cough (tugging in between the ribs when breathing deep or at the notch in the neck) then take her/him to the doctor.

This time : Of year it will be best to take your baby to the doctor to be sure cough is not just from postnasal drip. She / he could be wheezing, have flu , RSV or pneumonia. These conditions can progressed and get worse. These can be treated so don't wait too long if she is already coughing a lot.
