Most likely dryness.: Common causes: mouth dryness & enlarged tongue papillae allowing bacteria to produce discoloration. Smoking, medications (anti-histamines & antidepressants), & caffeine-containing beverages, may contribute to dryness. Maintain good hydration & eliminate dryness contributers if possible. Although usually benign consult your physician if jaundice occurs.

Bacteria: Typically a yellow tongue is caused by bacteria or debris. I would recommend you begin using a tongue scraper and an oral rinse like therabreath.
