At first: Basically, these are new prescription devices for your feet and your feet are now using some muscle groups that it hasn't used as the devices functionally correct the problem. Typically, your physician should give you instructions to break-in the devices (eg. 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, etc.) if it continues to bother you after 3 days of trying, call your doc. You may need to have it adjusted.

No!: A custom orthotic should not cause any pain! if your foot aches, it can often be addressed with a simple adjustment.

Orthotics: After your break-in period there should be no aching. See your podiatrist for a modification.
