Double eyelid surger: Double eyelid surgery to create a crease in the upper eyelids is very popular in asian patients. The eyes become more "open". Double eyelid surgery may be performed in the office via local anesthesia. Patients typically go back to work quickly, with most of the swelling lasting days.

Technique Dependent: The two main methods are the suture method & incision method. Both methods secure the crease down so the fat above it can fold over the crease. The suture method is less involved and has a shorter recovery (days to weeks), but can lose the crease over the years. Incision method is more secure, but can have swelling for months to up to a year before reaching the final result. Hope this helps :).

Asian eyelid surgery: Asian eyelid surgery is a popular procedure that was described by a Japanese surgeon in 1896. Since then, several techniques have been designed to either create a crease in the upper eyelid or to strengthen an already existing crease. Asian patients seek this procedure for aesthetic reasons and functional reasons.
