Generally : Generally speaking the worst swelling occurs during the first 24-48 hours. Plateaus at 72 hours and greatly improves by 96 hours. However, great variation does exist in the amount of swelling and bruising. While it is best to have someone available for the first night of recovery, it is generally not necessary beyond that.

I : I always recommend that patients have someone with them the night of surgery. Remember that swelling will prevent the patient from driving a car for 2-3 days.

Asian blepharoplasty: Postoperative swelling is a variable experience. Follow your surgeon's pre and postoperative instructions. Most likely you can manage on your own.
