Usually, not long: Eyelid skin is the thinnest, best healing skin of the body, and usually heals quickly and well from eyelid surgery. Of course, any scar will look a little red after a couple of weeks, but eyelid scars tend to lighten and fade quicker than any other area - typically the scars can be hidden with makeup after a couple of weeks. Many patients have almost invisible scars within a few months.

Healing surgery time: In addition to the other excellent answer hereditary and family issues/tendencies must be factored into the discussion. Otherwise excellent surgery can sometimes be like watching paint dry for the patient and surgeon.

Eyelid surgery: Everyone is different. The recovery from upper eyelid surgery is very quick, the swelling/bruising resolves within days. The lower eyelid recovery depends on what is done, more extensive procedures may take longer for the bruising/swelling to subside, but you can expect about 1-2 weeks. http://www.dassmd.com/eyelid-surgery/index.html.
