Unless : Unless there is a functional problem or congenital defect, i would agree that 18 years old is appropriate. Dr. Edwards.

For : For an elective procedure, it is best for the patient to be able to consent to the procedure. A teenager usually has to wait until age 18. If there are functional issues, a case could be made to have a procedure before that.
