Run and get a crown!: The longer you wait, the greater the chance your tooth will become reinfected. Bacteria from your saliva will leak into the root canal space and cause the root canal to fail. You will loose your tooth or have to re treat the root canal and pay for it all over again! just because it doen't hurt does not mean you can ignore it. It is top priority if you want to save the tooth.

We typically: Recommend two weeks following completion of the root canal. That is sufficient time to make sure you are pain free so that the final phase of the treatment can be performed to restore the tooth to one of proper form and function. Waiting beyond that time period accomplishes nothing besides potential problems and additional expense should the tooth fracture etc.
