Can you get your teeth whitened while pregnant?

Not recommended: Tooth whitening uses peroxide agents to lighten the teeth. These chemicals produce free radicals when they are exposed to the teeth. While there is probably a miniscule chance of harm, it is still best to avoid using any agent that may potentially have reason to cross the placental blood barrier and affect a developing fetus.

Probably best to : Wait until after the baby is born. Also probably not recommended if you are nursing. Why take a chance - it's not worth it.

Yes: You can because the whitening solution breaks down into water and oxygen. However, you should check with your ob-gyn .
