Dental prophylaxis : Start by going to your dentist and get your teeth professionally cleaned. Teeth bleaching is like waxing your car. You would never put wax on a dirty car. That is why you have to wash your car and then place the wax. If there is plaque and tartar on your teeth, the bleaching will not be effective. If this does not give you the desired results, lumineers or veneers may be for you.

Tooth Whitening: Step one: use a whitening toothpaste but only short term as it is very abrasive. Step two: get a professional cleaning if it has been some time since your last one. Step three: make sure you have no cavities and your gums are healthy. Step four: ask your dentist what your whitening options are, both professional and at home methods. Decide what is best for you. At home methods are not as effective.
