Removable insoles: Buy a shoe that is really comfortable for you that has removable insoles, since most of the insoles in shoes are junk. Replace them with (my opinion) spenco polysorb insoles - walker/runner, cross trainer, or total support. http://www.spenco.com/products/footcare.

One that feels good!: Just as people come in different shapes, sizes and have different needs, so do come shoes. I believe there is no one shoe that is the best. Make sure it fits well, is comfortable to wear. You may come to find you do better with brand a over brand b. Go to a reputable athletic shoe retailer and see what they can offer in shoes and expertise.
