Maybe butadviseother: It kind of depends on an individual basis. A high arced shoe could do the opposite, make your symptoms worse. Persons who are flat-footed, can not always tolerate high arches. It's more about biomechanical control. Have your local area podiatrist explain this to you. It's okay to experiment but at the end of the day, see a professional.

Orthotics: The best advice I can give you for your flat feet is to get a custom molded foot orthotic. Most shoes are not made with a very aggressive arch support as most people who purchase that shoe will not be able to tolerate an aggressive built in arch support.
