Yes: See your pediatrician immediately. Heavy drainage suggests a ruptured ear drum. He needs antibiotic treatment and evaluation by an expert.

Depends on situation: If dxd & under treatment it can be monitored. Some ear infections will build pressure & bore through an ear drum & drain. Often the kid feels better immediately. Follow up with his pcp is important but most kids will self heal a perforation within days. If it persists, sometimes the ent's have to go in & patch it months down the line.If not teated go in tomorrow.
