In general, no.: Colitis is a rather broad term that includes infectious as well as non infectious causes such as: clostridium difficile, e. Coli 0157:h7, salmonella, shigella, cytomegalovirus (cmv), amebiasis, crohn's and ulcerative colitis, nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug induced colitis. Radiation colitis and ischemic colitis are probably not likely. Find out what kind he has to be sure.

Only if : It is infectious colitis. If it is ulcerative colitis or crohn's colitis you can not catch it.
