I have neuropathy in my feet caused by alcohol. i have some numbness and not much pain. what is my prognosis/timeframe for recovery? quit drinking.

So yes, stop : Drinking. Likely, you have low thiamine levels. This can be checked with bloodwork and you can take supplements. I would recommend bentothiamine as a supplement. An epidermal nerve fiber biopsy may give an indication of recovery. In some cases damage may be irreversible.

Hard to say: Depends on how long you were drinking for and how extensive of neuropathy you have. Sometimes it may not be reversible and sometimes it might be. Either way by stop drinking you took the right step and prevented further damage of your nerves.
