Get it cultured: If it was not already done the wound drainage should be cultured aerobically and anaerobically. The antibiotic should be tailored to the bacteria that are cultured. If the infection persists on appropriate antibiotic treatment you should be checked to be sure you do not have an underlying bone infection, osteomyelitis.

Bad infection: If you have had an infection for four weeks and you had boils lanced over your hip bones, you should have x-rays and cultures taken and placed on IV antibiotics. Speak to your physician and discuss your problem.

See wound doc: May require further drainage, may need different antibiotics- were cultures done?May be underlying source such as foreign body which needs to be removed, may be underlying bone infection. Little tough to tell without knowing more.
