Several ways: You might see more deformity. If you bend over (like touching your toes), a family member or friend can look at the surface of your spine and look at the difference between right and left. Increasing prominence would indicate worsening scoliosis. Adults might notice loss of height. You may see a difference in the way your clothes fit.

X ray: A pa x ray is the only way to reliably tell the degree to which the scoliosis is getting worse. Although a rib hump or prominence of the shoulder blades are clinical clues.

X-ray : Comparing a recent X-ray with one done earlier will tell it it is getting worse. Some people will also check if their height is decreasing as well, which would be another sign it is getting worse.
