Keloid?: It sounds like a keloid, which is a hyperactive scar. Ears are common places for them, but any wound will do it. Plastic surgery is needed, but may result in another forming.

Surgery, easy: This may be a keloid, or just scar tissue. It is a simple operation for a facial plastic surgeon, or general plastic surgeon to remove it.
