Local care: For the next several weeks, you should clean the area with alcohol and then apply a topical antibiotic, such as neosporin or Bacitracin 2-3 times a day. The earring should aslo be gently twirled so that the antibiotic can come into contact with the part of the post that is in contact with skin.

Piercings: New piercings are usually cleaned twice a day. Do not twist jewelry / post. Saturate gauze w saline solution (pinch of sea salt in warm water), place on piercing & allow it to gently drip into the piercing.
