Biochemical relapse: Further information re- the pathology from the radical prostatectomy would be needed-obviously for beter understanding. But, what you describe here is a case of biochemical relapse. Discuss further with your doctor- you likely need to be treated with radiation therapy directed to the surgical bed area and close monitoring. If psa continue to go up- consider scan imaging to rule out distant spread.

Need a new workup: Clearly this should be considered a recurrence. A complete evaluation (at a cancer center if possible) is in order and a simple physical exam (ie, rectal) might detect evidence of cancer. Other imaging studies may be helpful such as mri, bone scan or prostascint which is a nuclear medicine test designed to show "hotspots" where cancer may have spread. Review of pathology from surgery recommended.
