Pinched nerve in neck is most likely cause of your symptoms. Pain often occurs first, followed by numbness. Don't be surprised by appearance of weakness. So how long are you going to neglect this before you see a physician?

This sounds very much like a herniated disk or pinched nerve in your neck. I would suggest going to have a neck evaluation with a spine surgeon.
