Protrusion: Buck teeth is a popularized description, not a diagnosis. While it is generally described as prominence of the upper front 2/4 teeth. This could be due to many different problems: short lower jaw, long upper jaw, upper teeth angled too far forward from habits etc... Generally it is termed a class 2 malocclusion (but that is too generalized).

Overjet: Buck teeth, overjet, horizontal overbite, protrusion, are all descriptions of the horizontal relationships of the front teeth. Buck teeth usually seen in class ii malocclusion where top front teeth protrude, or upper jaw is too far forward, or lower jaw is too far back, or upper jaw is too narrow pushing the upper teeth forward, or so many other reasons. Go see an orthodontist for more info...
