THA revision: Speak with your operative hip surgeon and take their recommendation to have revision done by someone well-versed in revision work--it may or may not be the primary surgeon, depending upon surgeon experience in this, as well as operating room specialty equipment and instruments available.

By your surgeon: It is critical to choose a surgeon to do your hip replacement who does a high volume of that type of surgery. That surgeon is best suited to redo it. Fortunately, most hip replacements will outlast the average orthopedists practice. If this is your situation, then choose a surgeon whose practice focuses on hip replacement, including revision surgery.
