Hip prostheses: typically last 15 years or so. Surgery has risks. Revisions are sometimes difficult. Thus I advise other treatments first for younger people like you to avoid your having many hip replacement and revision surgeries. Lifestyle modifications and proper exercise can be quite helpful. For example, Neal Barnard, MD wrote "Foods That Fight Pain," a very helpful book on nutrition for arthritis/pain.

If you are 34 years old, it would be reasonable to wait, if possible. Hip replacement addresses quality of life limitations, so some young people have hip pathology to warrant hip replacement. But waiting as long as possible, within reason, is ok to do. But do not want to sacrifice ability to live normal life style.
