Depends??: Treatment for hip arthritis is limited. If pain can be controlled with nsaids and the patient can tolerate them that is an option. If her pain is disabling and her health is good hip replacement may be a good option. As our population continues to age and life expectancy increases it is becoming more common to do hip surgery in the elderly.
