If u get an infection in ur hip can it be removed and not have a replacement?

Sometimes: It sounds like you have already had a hip replacement, and now it is infected. Sometimes infected hardware can be treated with prolonged antibiotics, but infected hardware can be very difficult to cure. It is then necessary to remove the infected hardware and replace it. Consultation with an orthopedic surgeon who does a lot of hip replacements is definitely warranted. I hope this helps.
