hard to say: Clonus is usually a sign of spasticity. Spasticity is usually seen from some abnormality of the upper motor nervous system which includes the brain, the cervical spine, and the thoracic spine. There are many possibilities from stroke, to intraop spinal injury, transverse myelitis, spinal cord infarction just to name a few. A good neurologist should be able to get to the bottom of it.
