A member asked:

My granddaughter, 27, was recently diagnosed from a neurologist with ms. she had spinal tap, mri & all tests. she was advised to get a 2nd opinion from not another neurologist but from the neurology medical school clinic. what is that & why there?

The Neurology Medical School Clinic has all the research and expertise for MS. If you live within an hour of a Medical School, it is likely where most of the MS in the region is treated. Often with MS, there is research treatment that is new and only available at Medical School Clinics. Also, because it is a diagnosis with such an impact on one's life, best to have a second opinion.
