Depends...: On how long after the operation you are talking about. For the first few days, i usually prescribe something like vicodin. After that advil, tylenol (acetaminophen), (acetaminophen) or extra-strength tylenol (acetaminophen) should be enough for most people. If you have pain that these agents don't relieve, you should check with your operating surgeon.

Brow lift recovery: Prescription pain medication that combines Acetaminophen with a narcotic usually is preferred to control discomfort after brow lift. Examples include tylenol (acetaminophen) with codeine, percocet, and vicodin. Pain medications such as Ibuprofen or Aspirin are avoided, since these may contribute to more bleeding or bruising after plastic surgery. Ice packs or cool compress may also help alleviate some discomfort.

Ice: Tylenol, (acetaminophen) Ibuprofen or narcotic pain medications are all very helpful. However, icing your forehead and eyes can also be very effective at preventing swelling, bruising and reducing pain. I hope this information is helpful. Stephen weber, M.D. Lone tree facial plastic surgeon.
