Root canal Post op: If it is still painful, i would return to your dentist or endodontist, and have them reevaluate your tooth. It could be a number of things. I am not saying that it is not a fracture. However, it could be the temporary fill is high? There could be a another canal that is hidden? It could be a residual infection? It could be a number of things. It can be sore after and root canal for awhile.

Several things: First you should go back to the dentist who performed the rct to have it reevaluated. Several possibilities exist. There may be a fracture in the tooth. The occlusion may have to be adjusted. If a crown was placed there may be a problem the rct may have to be redone if it was not done properly. There may be a large cyst or abscess at the tip of the root in which case you may need an apicoectomy.

See your dentist.: Sometimes even the best textbook root canal treatments can have issues. Prolonged pain is a good signal for you to have your tooth re-evaluated by your dentist. Sometimes the solution is very simple, and certainly sometimes this means your tooth may require additional treatment. Only your dentist can accurately determine whether or not your tooth is cracked and help you decide what to do next.

See your doc: It's not entirely impossible to have recurring pain, but something isn't right. It's possible that the tooth could be fractured, or perhaps there is a badly infected portion of nerve that hasn't died yet. Best thing.....Go back to the doc and have it evaluated. Hope all works out for you!
