May not be related: Shallow breathing is typically not associated with intussusception. Sometimes children with intussusception can have lethargy. After successful reduction, lethargy should improve quickly.

Depends: Shallow breathing in a patient with untreated intussusception may be a sign of volume depletion or dehydration. Fluid resuscitation will help this resolve. After the intussusception is treated whether it be by enema or surgery these symptoms will resolve also.
